Atomic WaxBook an AssessmentBook

The assessment · Free · No call required

Send your website address. Get the facts in writing.

The Assessment is a proper inspection of your current website, delivered as a short written report you can actually read: speed, foundation, running costs, and a fixed quote. It's free, no call is required, and the report is yours to keep whether you hire us or not. It is not a sales pitch wearing a lab coat: if you don't need us, the report will say so.

The inspection

What gets checked.

01 · Speed

How your site performs on a real phone on a real network, using Google's own measurements of your actual visitors where available, not a lab demo.

02 · Foundation

What your site is built on, how old it is, what it depends on, and what breaks when one of those dependencies has a bad day.

03 · Running cost

Hosting, maintenance fees, plugin subscriptions, developer hours: the full price of keeping the current site alive, next to what it could cost instead.

04 · Protection

Your Google ranking, your highest-earning pages, your brand. The report maps what a rebuild must preserve before it touches anything.

The deliverable

What you walk away with.

A plain-language report: the state of your site, what a rebuild would involve for your situation specifically, and a fixed quote if you want one. Keep it, act on it, or hand it to another developer. It's yours. Most people tell us it's the first time anyone explained their own website to them.

A sample of the report format. Your numbers will be your own, measured, and explained in words you don't need a developer to translate.

Worth knowing

The quote in the report is fixed, based on what your site contains, not on how long we take. It's also patient: it doesn't expire while you think.

Fair questions

Asked and answered.

What does the assessment cost?

Nothing. One written report, no invoice, and no call required. We can afford to do this because the assessment is also how we avoid taking on work we can't do extraordinarily well. It protects both of us.

Is this just a sales pitch with extra steps?

No. The report stands on its own: the state of your site, what a rebuild would involve, and a fixed quote if you want one. If the honest answer is that you don't need us, the report says so, and you keep it either way.

Will you trash-talk my current developer?

No. Most aging sites are the product of reasonable decisions made on older platforms, plus time. The report describes the condition of the site, not the character of whoever built it.

What do you need from me?

Just your website address. If you can also share your hosting bill and any monthly maintenance invoices, even better; the running-cost math is usually the most clarifying part of the report.

Do I ever need to get on a call?

Only if you want to. The report arrives in writing either way. Plenty of owners prefer to read it, forward it to whoever manages the website or the money, and then talk. Some prefer to start with a conversation. Both doors are open; neither is required.

What happens after the report?

Whatever you decide. Proceed, and the fixed quote in the report is the price. Sit on it, and it doesn't expire. Hand it to another developer, and it'll still be accurate. It's an inspection, not a leash.

You're one person. What happens if you're unavailable?

Less than you'd fear, and that's by design. A finished rebuild has nothing that needs us: no plugins to patch, no maintenance schedule, no monthly dependency. The site keeps running untouched. And because everything is built on open, widely used technology and handed over fully documented, with every account in your name, any competent developer can pick it up. Your last developer's disappearance hurt because the site needed them. This one won't need anyone.

How much does a rebuild typically cost?

Most rebuilds for 10 to 30 page business websites land between $2,500 and $7,500. Your report includes the exact fixed quote for your site, based on what it actually contains, and the quote doesn't expire while you think.

Why not just move to Squarespace, Wix, or an AI site builder?

For some businesses that's genuinely the right answer, and if it's yours, the report will say so. The differences that usually decide it: builders start over rather than migrating your content and Google ranking, they charge forever, the design is theirs not yours, and the moment you need something the template can't do, you're back to hiring someone. If your site is simple and your ranking doesn't matter, use one with our blessing.

What about our booking system, forms, and other integrations?

Mapped in the assessment, before anything is quoted. Most integrations either come along or get a modern equivalent that works better; anything that can't be preserved is flagged in the report so you know before you commit, not after. Same for your content: every page, post, and image is migrated, and you approve the result page by page.

How long does a rebuild take?

Weeks, not months, for a typical business site. Your report includes the timeline for your site specifically, and because the old site stays live throughout, the schedule never holds your business hostage.
